I realized that I haven't updated some sites in a long time. One being workintexas.org which I used back in 2007 when I embarked on my last job search. That was clearly evident in that my address was still listed as being in Bremerton and my email address was from an account I shut down a couple of years ago.
Workintexas.org has recently gone through a nice refreshing. It's easier to use, cleaner, and pretty straightforward when it comes to job searches. The only hitch is that to use it to its full potential, you have to register. That allows a job searcher to actually see who has posted the position, a benefit when it's been placed by one of the hundreds of state agencies in Austin and a Google search turns up empty.
I found a cool-looking gig on workintexas.org but there were missing details, hence the reason behind updating the old resume. Looking deeper into what's out there I found out the Texas Department of Agriculture is looking for a public information officer. Time to polish the old state application and shoot for the moon once again.
